St Peter’s Row
In the terrace of three houses, accommodating 15 residents, we have a happy and secure environment in which a small group of people with learning disabilities can achieve the full development of their individual interests and abilities with maximum involvement in the life and work of the local community.
We aim to get the balance right between the protection our residents need and the independence they can achieve, providing training for those able to progress to independent living and a long term home for those unable to take this step. St Peter's Row accepts residents from the age of 18, acknowledging the importance of the continuance of learning through work and leisure after the end of formal schooling.
Some residents attend college or a day service and many choose from a range of Day Service activities on offer at Scotts.
Residents are also encouraged to participate in activities aimed at developing their daily living skills and furthering their independence such as menu planning, cooking, washing, budgeting, numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
All residents have an action plan encouraging them to achieve skills at their own pace. Goals are set and reviewed at regular intervals, giving individuals more independence and greater self-esteem.
Our residents also enjoy an active social life in the local community, visiting the theatre and cinemas, local restaurants, swimming, bowling alleys, etc. Many of them have joined clubs for other people with disabilities.
Scotts is set within the beautiful Kent countryside. The peaceful environment and attractive gardens support the health and happiness of our residents.
"We have no concerns for Beth as her keyworker is so caring and aware of her needs and anticipates possible concerns. We thank Jill and Denis every day for creating such a wonderful establishment"

About Graham
I joined Scotts in 2017, having been with Pepenbury for eight years as a support worker.
It is a pleasure to work in such beautiful surroundings to support the residents who live in our residential homes. Our homes are homely, as you or I would wish for, set in a healthy and very attractive peaceful setting.
With the help of my team, we will ensure our residents can develop their skills to their full potential, alongside our Day Services and Life Skills Centre and when there is an interest to become more independent, we will ensure this option is explored with them.
Homely Atmosphere
Homely Atmosphere
St Peter's Row is our residential care home, providing a safe and happy home to the 15 people who live here. It comprises three separate houses, each with its own staff, linked by a corridor.
A homely atmosphere is vital to help our residents to thrive living in St Peter's Row, our residential care home at Scotts
Each house has a kitchen, lounge and shared bathrooms. The communal areas are comfortable and welcoming and every resident has their own room where they can choose their own decor and keep and display their personal posessions.
Our support to care is drawn from our values:
- Care
- Support
- Develop
The Grounds
The Grounds
The peaceful environment and attractive gardens support the health and happiness of our residents, who enjoy socialising and picnics in the garden.
Our Founder, Jill Scott, is passionate about the garden and personally planted the majority of the plants that have now matured and has always highlighted the importance of the value it has for the health and wellbeing of our residents and staff.
