We are extremely grateful to the Trustees and volunteers who ensure we are able to provide high-quality services to adults with a learning disability. Scotts Project Trust is a charity and there is no renumeration for our Trustees, who give their time voluntarily to help us meet our overall objectives. The Board of Trustees is made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, and they oversee all aspects of our work.
Jill Scott MBE
Life President and Founder of Scotts Project Trust
Jill and Denis can be seen in the picture, running a plant sale and raising funds for the initial money needed to set up Scotts Project Trust in 1990.Jill is actively involved with Scotts.
In 1990, Jill and Denis Scott had a dream to build a residential home where adults with a learning disability could live and work together.
This project was born out of the experience when their daughter, Henny, was forced to live many miles away due to lack of high quality facilities closer to home.
Their aim was for a caring community of adults, who would benefit from a structured environment designed to help them reach their full potential through learning and leisure.
Therefore, Scotts was founded in 1990, registered as a charity in 1991 and appointed a Board of Trustees.
A three acre site, together with a superb hall in the style of a tithe barn, was donated to Scotts by Honegrove Properties Ltd and fundraising began in earnest.
